However, 0 nicotine vaping is rising in popularity in recent years, despite many questioning what the point in 0 nicotine vaping actually is. 0 nicotine vaping can be a really helpful tool for those who are gradually quitting smoking and vaping, often vapers slowly reduce the amount of nicotine in their e-liquids until using nicotine free e-liquids. Once using nicotine free e-liquids(shortfills) they can then focus on quitting the physical habit of vaping too. Generally it is thought that smoking and vaping addictions affect people in two ways; Chemically, aka the physical dependence on nicotine, as well as the action of putting the cigarette or vape to the mouth and inhaling. 

Some ex-smokers choose to vape with 0 nicotine e-liquids because they began to resent the control nicotine was beginning to take over their everyday lives. After all, it can become inconvenient to depend on nicotine, especially in situations where getting your nicotine fix can be difficult.
