Times are changing in the vaping world. As the industry has grown and more people have taken up vaping in the UK, this has thrown the industry deep into the spotlight within the last couple of years. With the increasing popularity of vapes among the public, so has concern from the government (understandably) over the rise in use among young people.

So, what's next?

Just recently, the government has brought out a new consultation survey letting members of the public have their own say on the future of how nicotine products, including vapes, are sold. The overall response is likely to determine the government's next steps, which makes this a pivotal time for the industry.

The Consultation itself

The government is seeking views on how nicotine products are presented and sold, with a particular focus on how products are designed, displayed and packaged.

The consultation covers a range of areas, including:

  • • Flavour descriptions and product names
  • • Product colours, branding and design features
  • • How products are packaged and presented
  • • How products are displayed in shops
  • • The use of screens and device features

It's super-easy to complete

Whether you're a new or experienced vaper, a former smoker, you work in the industry or just have an interest in vaping, this consultation offers an exciting opportunity to have your say on the future of vaping.

The consultation is a simple process, with each question giving you the choice of Agree, Disagree, Neither Agree or Disagree, or Don't Know. There is also an optional feedback box if you'd like to add any comments or explain your views. You don't need to complete every section and the survey only takes around 20-30 minutes in total.

Get in quick, before it closes!

We fully support the government's ambition in tackling youth vaping, and we believe responsible businesses have an important part to play in achieving those goals.

At the same time, it's important that the voices of adult vapers and responsible retailers are part of the conversation. The decisions made now could shape the vaping landscape for years to come.
