How To Clean A Vape Kit

The secret to keeping your vape kit well maintained and working at full capacity is keeping it clean. This topic brings up many points to consider; from how often to clean your vape to correct vape cleaning technique. Read on for our vape cleaning tips as well as the most common cleaning mistakes vapers make and how to fix them.

Mistake #1: Not cleaning your vape often enough.
It is important to clean your vape regularly because over time e-liquid can solidify and get stuck to your coil, stopping it from working properly and resulting in dry hits. We recommend cleaning your vape every time you charge it, as this gets you into good habits.

Mistake #2: Forgetting to clean each component.
You need to ensure your whole device is cleaned, not just the pods or coil. You should be cleaning the coil, refillable pods(if applicable), as well as the tank.

Mistake #3: Forgetting to detach any attachable components when cleaning.
Make sure you remove any detachable components like mods, empty pre-filled pods, and coils. Failing to do so means you may miss parts of your tank when cleaning.

Mistake #4: not airdrying all components.
Leave all components of your vape separate and allow it to air dry for a couple of hours. Skipping this step can cause mould to grow in your vape, making it unsafe to use.

Mistake #5: skipping the cotton swabs.
We find cotton swabs are ideal for reaching tucked away parts of your vape, specifically the corners of your tank and your coil.

Mistake #6: Only cleaning with water.
Warm water is great for cleaning your vape but we also recommend using 70 isopropyl alcohol to ensure no e-liquid residue is left behind.

How to clean your vape

Now we've gone over what to avoid, we need to touch upon how you should clean your vape!

  • Disassemble your vape entirely.

  • Pour away any e-liquid left in your tank.

  • Wet a cloth or paper towel with 70% Isopropyl alcohol.

  • Scrub any areas of hardened e-liquid left in the tank or coil.

  • Wet another cloth/ paper towel with warm water, ensuring you've wiped away any old e-liquid and alcohol left behind.

  • Use a cotton swab to reach tricky places.

  • For an extra deep clean you can then leave your vapes components to soak in warm (not hot) water and isopropyl alcohol. We recommend leaving them for around 15-20 minutes.

  • If your vape features a refillable pod, you will have to clean this also.

  • Leave your tank, coil and refillable pod to air dry for at least an hour.

  • Reassemble your vape once dry.
